Cicada began with The shared fascination OF storytelling between friends. The kind of stories that stick in between your teeth and root there for a long time. The bands goal is to create music that feels honest and human, with the capability of moving people beyond the surface. Borrowing from indie, folk and rock, we have built our identity around large arrangements, four part vocal harmonies and lyrics that explore the wonder and complexity of the human experience. Over the past year we have established OURSELVES as one of Dublin’s emerging live acts, performing at Whelan’s Ones To Watch and earning recognition from Hot Press as one of their “Hot for 2026” acts. Our debut single “voicebox” introduced our ever evolving sound AND Our upcoming EP is a continuation of that journey, representing who we are now and who we might be tomorrow.
